The students and staff at the Hillel at the University of Denver strive to meet the needs of all students. Here is a list of the program areas we focus on. In addition, we are always looking for new ideas and would be happy to start a project you’re passionate about!
Cooking There are always great opportunities to come cook at Hillel for Shabbats and Holidays. Be in touch if you want to help cook! Check out the calendar for any upcomming cooking programs.
GAP - Graduate Students, Alumni and Young Professionals This is an amazing, thriving group of Hillel. Check the calendar for monthly Happy Hours and Holiday events. Contact Jamie Goodman if you’d like more information.
Holocaust and Genocide Awareness Week This is an annual program that occurs in April. The week includes speakers, interactive programs, movies and opportunities to learn how you can help end genocide today. Contact Sonia Wilk if you’d like to get involved.
Intramural sports Each quarter Hillel will be forming a co-ed intramural sports team. Contact Rachel Pinsker if you’d like to join the team.
Israel Activism and Education This group of students helps plan educational and social events about Israel. The big event each year is around Israel Independence Day in April. Contact Rachel Pinsker for more information.
Jewish Education Keep an eye out on the calendar for events throughout the year that explore Judaism in unique ways. We’ll be having “Rap with the Rabbi” starting in the Winter and Torah study periodically. For more information contact Rachel Pinsker.
Jewish Holidays Hillel offers something special for all of the Jewish Holidays. Keep an eye out on the calendar for upcoming events.
Jewish Rainbow Alliance (LGBTQ) This is Hillel’s newest group! We will be having monthly programs to help create community for LGBTQ students and allies. Keep an eye out on the calendar for upcoming programs. Contact Raishel Wasserman or Tami Kessler for more information.
Outdoor Programming We’re in Colorado!! There is so much to do in this amazing state! Including hiking, biking, rock climbing, camping and even flag-football. Keep an eye out on the calendar for upcoming events.
Social Events Throughout each month, Hillel will be offering fun social events. Come by the Hillel center for open-mic nights, Wii Tournaments, movie nights and more. Check out the calendar for upcoming events.
Alternative Breaks Every year Hillel plans an alternative spring break to a place that needs our help. For the past two years we have gone to areas hit by Hurricane Katrina. Contact Rachel Pinsker for more info.

Tikkun Olam- Social action This is one Hillel’s key values. We work on healing the world through the green aspects of our building as well as through programs. Comedy for a Cure was our kick-off event for social action throughout the year. Contact Rachel if you would like to join our group of students who will be doing volunteer work throughout the community.
